Thereafter, it served in the home fleet until 1941. 194142 served in the Royal Navy's Eastern Fleet to fight the Japanese army. The Conway was finally sunk in the waters southwest of Colombo, Ceylon by the Japanese First Air Force on April 5, 1942.
